Regulations - Electric Guitar

Regulations are an 80's American style hardcore band from Sweden. This is their first Ep's collection, Electric Guitar from 2005. They sound a lot like Minor Threat, Black Flag, Dead Kennedy's, Sex Pistols, hell, anything from around that time you can hear in this band. They're currently my favorite Havoc Records band. You'd benefit greatly by listening to this record, I guarantee it.

Om - Conference Of The Birds

Om's 2nd record is an aeronautic experience of sorts. You can even say it elevates you to the object form, if you prefer. It's not as "heavy" as the first, but it's twice as heady. Give it a spin, and give that bong a rip. Hell, give me a rip too! I'm serious!

Download

Om - Variations On A Theme

Variations On A Theme is the excellent debut from this stoner duo, OM. Comprised of Al Cisneros and Chris Hakius of Sleep, the riffed out song structures are much like their previous band, without the weed-centrism they were known for. I know that Om songs tell stories, but I'm not exactly sure what they're trying to say... Yeah. Pretty heavy stuff. It isn't my favorite release of theirs, but it's a great record to start with if you haven't heard them yet.

Sleep - Vol. 1

Sleep's debut album, Volume 1, sounds a lot like a heavier continuation of Asbestosdeath than their later stuff. It's raw, punk as fuck, and you can tell even from this first recording that they would eventually create a near flawless style that would influence many bands to come. A few of these songs are also Asbestosdeath songs, so if you like them, you'll love this. I suggest The Holy Mountain if you dig this!

Sleep - The Holy Mountain

This is the epitome of Sleep. Much more developed than Volume 1 (which I still love, btw), the riffage and the headyness of this record is truly unrivaled by any of their contemporaries. From the first note in Dragonaut to the riff heavy, slow/mid paced guitar/bass lines in Nain's Baptism, you'll find yourself nodding your head to the hypnotic note melding and vocal alchemy that this record is best known for. If you like this, you've got to check out Dopesmoker.

Extreme Noise Terror - A Holocaust In Your Head

This album has got to be one of my favorite crust/grind albums of all time!!! Well, that and Disrupt's Unrest. I first bought this in the 8th grade and have owned it many times since. The track listing is all fucked and the lyrics are always wrong if you don't buy the original LP, but nevertheless, this album is fucking epic. See if your roommates like it as an alarm clock :)

Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus

This is the first record from early Doom band, Candlemass. If you're into metal in general (not just Doom), you'll benefit greatly by picking up this album. The vocals aren't tortured or strained, but it's pretty rockin', for sure.

Zero Boys - Vicious Circle

I really think everyone should have this record in their collection if they're into 80s American hardcore. I was listening to Regulations this one day last year, and my buddy Nick was all like "Oh dude, you should get Zero Boys, you're gonna love them!", and I did, and I do love them. I'm sure you will to!

Download

Isis - In The Absence Of Truth

This is the fourth album from this epic post-metal band. This record is really complex and really thought out well. If you're at all into Godspeed, You Black Emperor, Pelican, or Asunder, or a mixture of the three, you'll definitely need to pick this record up.

Download

Napalm Death - Hatred Surge (Demo)

This demo sounds nothing like Napalm Death does now, but that's what I like so much about it! It's so dark, and you can hear the early evolution of grindcore out of anarcho-punk a lot on this demo. This is really hard-hitting and emotional for a Napalm Death release. I guess that's why it's a demo, huh?

Download

The Mental & Stupid Humans - Pay The Public

This record is pretty cool if you're a fan of early Subhumans. It's raw and powerful, and gives you a good look at how one of the best anarcho-punk bands developed their sound. The Mental is Dick's band before he joined the Subhumans, and Stupid Humans is the Subhumans before Dick joined. You'll recognize a lot of the songs on the Stupid Humans side, except they're a lot darker than you remember them. I really don't think I like this better than the Subhumans, but I like it a lot and it's a must for any fans of early anarcho-punk.

Asunder - A Clarion Call

This album rules. I saw this band at The Poison Apple in Los Angeles years ago. It was probably one of the most fun times I've had at a doom show ever. You should check them out. That is, if you could see through the clouds of bong smoke.

Download

Worship - Last CD Before Doomsday

Last CD Before Doomsday is a really slow doom album by funeral doom masters Worship. Slow, somewhat ambient, and fun to listen to baked. What more can you ask for? Listen to this shit.

The Mob - Let The Tribe Increase

There was a time in my life when I could only really listen to this record when I felt like death. It's such a sad record, and one of my top 5 favorites of all time. These melancholy chords wrapped together to make one of the hardest anarcho-punk records to listen to of all time.

Download

The Sinyx - The Black Death EP

This is an extremely rare rip from a 7 inch I made probably 7 years ago. Maybe more, I dunno. There's only 300 copies of this on earth, and it's the only non-demo release for this dark anarcho-punk band. Very bass and drum heavy, these four tracks are hard-hitting and straight to the point. I might put up there demos later. If you like this stuff, I've got a lot more like it, so keep checking!

Download

Bedemon - Invocation To Doom

If you can get over the lo-fi recording, this album is actually really heavy for 1971. Bedemon has two members of Pentagram, in case you couldn't tell. I really don't have much to say about this, other than it's heavy as fuck and I listen to this almost once a week. You should give it a shot and let me know if you like it!

Download

Sleep - Dopesmoker

This is Sleep's third album, and probably my favorite. Sleep broke up because no one would put this album out because the song Dopesmoker is over an hour long. But if you've got that time to devote to this record, it's definitely worth it. Spark up that bong and listen to this. It's gonna be a slow ride, but you'll get there!

Download

Part 1 - Pictures Of Pain

This is another one of those records that are really hard to describe. The only full length record ever put out by these gothic anarcho-punks is slightly overdriven and super reverb heavy. The vocals kill, too. Seriously, this is the music they play in hell, kids. Released on Pusmort (Pushead from Septic Death's record label), this mad house of tripped out tunes sounds a lot like Christian Death, Rudimentary Peni, Bauhaus, and early anarcho punk, which might sound odd, but it makes sense when you're listening to it. Give it a try. You might like it.

Slint - Spiderland

\
This is definitely one of my top 10 favorite albums of all time. If you're not into really hard emotional post-rock, you might wanna skip this one. Four bong rips out of Five, for sure.

Download

ACXDC - He Had It Comin'

Death spare not the tiger, or the power violence band. This 7 inch was 2 of my buddies' band from Southern California called Anti-Christ Demon Core, or simply ACXDC. I don't know how many of them were vegan, or straightedge, but they come from that school of fast core punk rock and sing songs about Ninja Turtles and having sex with Jesus Christ. Really goofy, riffed out fast music. Not for people who aren't into this kind of stuff already, but if you are, you're gonna love it!!! I really do hope they reform. They're super fun to see live. If it ever happens, you should check it out! Esp. if the show is in a back yard.

Bad Religion - How Could Hell Be Any Worse?

This is it! The first Bad Religion record. Say what you will about their later stuff, and I might agree, but this record is punk as fuck and everyone knows it. Melodic, catchy, and fast - this record is what's up and if you don't agree you can kiss my ass. J.K. but really the only person I've played this record for that didn't like it is my grandma. But she still listens to sleep, so we're still on good terms.

Download

Anti Product - The Deafening Silence Of Grinding Gears

Another really preachy anarcho-punk record from Tribal War records. Top notch musicianship and powerful lyrics make this record amazingly painful to listen to. Definitely bittersweet. A good listen if you're into good music and you're hella political. Even if you aren't, you might enjoy it.

Download

Envy - Breathing And Dying In This Place

This is the first record from this epic emotive hardcore band Envy, from Japan. It's definitely their hardest record, that's for sure. They get pretty emo down the line, so if you're not into that sort of thing, this might be the only record you might like. If you are, you really should check out some of their other records. They're great. Enjoy!

Contravene - A Call To Action

Man oh man, this record RULES! If you're not into preachy anarcho-punk, this record probably isn't for you. If you are, you're in for a treat :). This record influenced a lot of my early songwriting in my old band, Agrimony. So if you ever heard that stuff, you'll probably love it! Riffed out anarcho-punk heavy madness!!! A must have in anyone's music collection.

Ill Repute - What Happens Next?

Probably my favorite album from these Oxnard punk rock wizards! From the same city as great punk bands Dr. Know, Stalag 13, and The Missing 23rd, this band was a really big influence on me when I was 14, and still, to this day, I get super pumped whenever I hear any of these songs. West coast 80s punk rock at its best!!! I definitely think that everyone should listen to this record, especially the song "Turn The Guns Around". So real. So true. Such a positive band!!! Enjoy!!!

This Is My Fist - Everything So Far (Early Discography)

I first heard this amazing band years ago in Long Beach, CA. My roommate Kris and his partner at the time were really into them and I heard their first 7 inch and thought it was so fucking good that I obsessed over this band for a long time. This is their early discography of really gooooooood female fronted pop punk from the bay area. They played at my house in Long Beach once and it ruled so much!!! I hope you like them!!! I'll be putting more of their music on here soooooon!

Hatred Surge & Iron Lung - Broken

I don't know. Is it just me? Or did two really good bands collaborate to make one of the best records I've heard in years??? Hatred Surge and Iron Lung come together to make Broken, a collaboration 7 inch that will blow your fucking mind. Seriously, this record made me appreciate both those bands even more than I already did, and I hope you feel the same :)

Download

Nirvana - Out Of The Womb (In Utero Demos)

These are the Steve Albini Demos for In Utero. Very raw, and amazing. Although the album still rocks after some other douche-tard went and re-mixed it all, these demos are amazing, and I think Nirvana should have stuck with this version of the album instead. It's super clean, but still sounds like a boombox recording. Fucking classic. And heavy!!! Four and a half Bong Rips out of Five!!!

Flower Travellin' Band - Satori

So, my roommate Josh, who I LOVE, got me into this band, Flower Travellin' Band. I first heard this record and was blown away by how amazing and heavy this shit is! This record is from 1971 from Tokyo, and I swear that Satori 3 is one of the heaviest songs I've heard in a looooong time! If you have good taste, you won't be disappointed. And if you have a bong near by, I suggest taking a few rips before letting this fucker assault you with awesomeness.
